The Color Between Red and White

Perhaps all acts of human compassion bear a pink underside.

For me, pink evokes memories of my loving grandmother—a symbol of nurturance and care. It speaks to the relational tending of the feminine, a quiet devotion rooted in connection.

But pink is also the color of interiors. If you were to open the body of an animal—or a human—you would find pink within. It is the color of what lies beneath, of life’s soft, vulnerable underpinnings.

Pink exists in a spectrum, but at its essence, it is a blend of white and red. White, often symbolic of innocence, purity, and untainted beginnings—of spirituality itself. And red, a color of passion, intensity, and fire, of blood and vitality.

Together, red and white merge to form pink—a hue rich with complexity, straddling tenderness and strength, innocence and intensity. It is a color of profound duality, embodying both fragility and resilience.
