Coverings: Skin touch

Acrylic on wood panels
16 Panels total (12 x 12” each)
2016

Recently saw a reference to ‘Skin hunger’. And though this reference was noted in the context of Covid quarantine situations…I see the same ‘hunger’ as framework for Coverings: Skin touch. Touch is a basic sense and need.

Appreciation for the skin touch of a warm pair of socks, for example, becomes a tender means to pass through times of physical aloneness.  I wanted to capture those daily articles of clothing that embrace and hold our skin. Objects of intimacy and touch.
